Bill's iPhone

Bill Wilson played the piano at Violette tonight with me and his new iPhone drew an even bigger crowd. John Snellings and Mark Karrell sat-in also and it turned into a jam session by the end of the night.

The iPhone surfs the internet with ease and doesn't even need a Wi-Fi connection. It's kind of humorous to think back to when Bill and I used to bring Commodore SX-64's and 300 baud modems to the gigs back in the early 80's and plug into the phone lines to get online. That sound of a 300 baud modem dialing into a BBS and connecting, followed by that familiar BBS login prompt was golden. I used to have a dedicated phone line at home and was the SysOp for "Real Time" BBS. the World-Wide Web didn't come along until 1992, by then all the Bulletin Board Services were disappearing.
