First time for everything, I suppose. A Thomson product has failed...
The clamp part of my handlebar stem on the road bike has cracked. I know it has nothing to do with racing up and down hole-pocked, rocky dirt and gravel roads, or cutting across yards and fields, dirt paths, over curbs and so forth.
Maybe they'll send me a new one.
Posted by dancoy at September 20, 2008 09:56 PMMy friend, Dave, at Thomson said they will send me a replacement part, but not this week because the annual bicycle industry trade show, Interbike, is going on in Las Vegas and EVERYBODY will be there - except me, of course.
He said I probably had that clamp a little too tight and that's why it cracked. I do recall after the Rouge Roubaix ride in LA/MS last month, my bars had slipped slightly so I tightened that clamp pretty good after that. Probably my fault.
