There were nine foolhardy riders with a defiant disregard for the freezing and windy weather who had come to dance.
(L-R) Shawn, Jeff, Curtis, Tim, Marshall, Wojtek, Eric, Dan. We picked up Tracy on the other side of the dirt road.
Personally, I'm OK with my offspring's judgment. However I believe families selecting a child's spouse, as they still do in many cultures, might produce better long-term results in many cases. At the very least the families' approval should weigh heavily in a marriage... or maybe I'm just really old-fashioned :-)
I finally posted some duo sound snippets on the Mack & Dan website. It's just some short audio samples in MP3 format.
We actually have a couple hours of music recorded from this and several similar sessions but have yet to sort through the tracks and do anything with them.
The sound of John's clarinet and saxophone can sometimes be heard joining the duo at Violette Restaurant. Last night the packed house of Valentine's Day diners were treated to renditions of classic tunes like "Moonglow", "What's New", "There Is No Greater Love" and of course "My Funny Valentine".
Capitola Farm Rd in Hall county is where I've been going for a hill repeat workout and benchmark for the past several years, just about since they paved the road. Doug came along for this power workout today and he did several good reps too.
According to my bike computer, the distance from the lowest to the highest point of the road is 1.3 miles, ascent: 295 feet and average grade: 4.2% with sections of about 12%. That's not terribly severe but it's the only "6-minute" hill I have nearby. Only did 3 reps today but all were sub-6, which is pretty decent for me.
The gang was more selective this week.

Found a big box of these on my porch today.
It was another gory edition of the Macabre ride with a growing number of poor souls.
