My intent is to come out with my boys Saturday morning to help with prep work for a couple of hours. I have to be back to coach Jeffrey's basketball at 12:30, but I figure a couple of hours is better than nothing. I am still hoping to be back to work most of Sunday (with boys), but I am not able to lock in yet. Also, I have one of those 10x10 EZ-Up tent/shade things that I can bring up if it would be of good use for you.
Posted by Dean at November 18, 2008 03:33 PMAny assistance at all will be GREATLY appreciated.
Knock on wood, no rain expected for this weekend, but if it does rain the tent will be great. I suspect the early AM cold temps are going to be the biggest challenge.
I want a copy of this (im)poster !
Posted by wojtek at November 18, 2008 11:22 PM"imposter"? the rider at the front of this photo (3-time state champ)is still the reigning champ until this Sunday. The riders chasing him in the photo are the likely candidates for the jersey. A bit of artistic license used but I think the image is apropos.
*Artistic license often provokes controversy by offending those who resent the reinterpretation.
Posted by dan at November 19, 2008 09:11 AMIf I had to improve something , that would be enhancing the target logo on leader's jersey .
Posted by wojtek at November 20, 2008 11:22 AMAgreed, time became an issue and it was submitted unfinished.
Posted by dan at November 20, 2008 01:55 PMDan,
Remind them the target will not be stationary and if they worry too much about the substance of the target it will be across the finish line in front of them before they know what has happened.
Dad
I will not defend the state champ jersey this year. The other racer's resentment and personal obsessions have grown to the point that, frankly, it is not fun to be around. It's not a pro competition and there is nothing at stake except personal pride so it's easy to see how that can happen.
This decision was made long before the season started and I only showed up to the early races to "fan the flames" and support the game.
From now on, if you see me at a Georgia cross race it will be with a cowbell not a bicycle.
