Playing around with the ornate GA SS emblem and some red, white and blue stripes. Solid background or maybe gradients. Side panels could be gradients or some more ornate grunge... or maybe flames, tribal patterns, snake skin...
Speaking of "red tartan", I'm looking for a pair of Converse All Star Chuck Taylor, either high or low top, in size Mens 11 (Euro 44.5).
I have admired their products for years and the Rapha Country Jerseys (as in Belgium, France, Italy) are a beautiful example of the classic jersey design with three horizontal stripes across the chest.
On the other hand... Shonky had made the single speed world champion jerseys last year, but production ran late (sound familiar?) so they weren't done in time for the race. With the red tartan sleeve, hot pink sleeve and olive chest it is a picture of good taste and understated class... uh, or something.
Here's a logo idea combining some elements of the Rock Racing logo (shield and wings) with a banner, cog and state flag. I'm thinking this would go on the front, back and sleeves of a jersey
Maybe we could print the logo on a jersey with some grunge, tire tracks and splatter effects for the background.
It's time to start thinking about ideas for a Georgia single-speed mountain bike championship jersey design. It would be easy to use the flames, skulls and tribal tattoo patterns that continue to be popular (Rock Racing) but that is just so overdone. Argyle seems to be enjoying some popularity with cyclist (Slipstream/Chipotle) but I don't know. Maybe since SS mountain bike racing is kinda low-tech we should go with a canvas and stencil graphics look?
Anyway let's put our thinking caps on. Just for laughs I snatched a few images from the web and pasted together a quick and dirty logo idea for crowning the GA SS MTB Champ.
The new Gitane DG-300 arrived today and after a few adjustments and setup the guitar passed my inspection criteria for tone and playability. Cosmetically speaking, this one looks better than the previous one also. It's been quite a process with two returned instruments but this one is worthy and has been accepted into my stable of six-string mistresses.

A few of my favorites...
D'Aquisto New Yorker, Takamine acoustic, Epiphone Emperor Regent, Fender Stratocaster ('62 replica w/Texas Specials), Gitane DG-300, D'Angelico New Yorker
Only one ride in it so far but my initial impressions are that the cut/fit/sizing is far better than last year's also the construction (flat lock seams, tagless labels, etc) and materials are a noticeable improvement.
This morning it was a windy and wet ride and the jacket passed the wind and water resistance test while remaining breathable and dry inside thanks to some well placed vents.
The bibs fit great all the way around and appear to be very durable. When I first jumped on the saddle the new gel-spot chamois felt like it might be a bit more cushy than my battle-hardened bum requires, but after an hour or so of riding in soggy conditions I decided this would definitely be the chamois for long rides and epic conditions. Andy suggested that he might want to lower his saddle a couple millimeters or so because of the chamois, but I didn't notice any issues with position. Time will tell but this chamois might become a favorite for many riders.
The 2008 kit looks cool. The distinctive GTC cobbles are prominent and the sponsors logos work well with the overall design and colors.
